October is right around the corner & thoughts have already turned to Halloween! While most are getting creative with costumes, many vegans are figuring out what candies they can eat! Packaged candy corn cake at your local store typically is packed with animal products like gelatin, egg whites, & beeswax, so members of the PPK were missing this sugary little tradition in their lives. Well, miss no more!
Here is a recipe for Homemade Candy Corn cake in scrumptious vegan version. With some clever substitutions, it worked! This recipe is not for the faint at heart, while the dough is easy to make, the production process is time consuming just a little boring! I recommend having a candy corn cake party with friends, so you can all get together to enjoy both the making and eating of these goodies together! You could also eat them uncolored, but how Grinch-like is that?
Here are the ingredients:
1 cup sugar 2/3 cup corn syrup (preferably organic, avoid high fructose corn syrup!) 5 tablespoons Earth Balance (or other vegan margarine) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1/3 cup powdered soy milk a pinch of sea salt Red & yellow food coloring
And here are the Instructions:
In a large saucepan, bring the sugar, corn syrup, Earth Balance, & vanilla to a boil over high heat-Reduce the heat to medium & boil the mixture for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally-After 5 minutes, remove from heat.
Sift the powdered sugar, powdered soy milk, & salt into medium bowl-Add the powdered sugar mixture to pan & stir to combine-Let the mixture stand until slightly warm to touch, about 20 minutes-Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces.
Consider putting on surgeons’ gloves, so you don’t stain your hands. Add several drops of yellow food coloring to one piece of dough & knead food coloring into the dough until smooth and color is even. Repeat using red & yellow food coloring (for orange) with the second piece & leave the last piece white, but knead it until smooth. This isn’t an easy task & could take up to 15 minutes! Roll each piece into ropes of equal length (don’t roll too thin or the dough will break) and push the three ropes together to form a long rectangle.
Using sharp knife, cut the ropes into triangles. Some will be white tipped & some will be yellow tipped.
This made 110 candy corn cakes, all larger than the store bought ones you’re used to! You could easily half this recipe and still have a ton to share with others or for ‘treating’ little rascals. I made mine somewhat large, as they’re easier to work with, but you could make smaller ones.

Broadway Automotive
Broadway Automotive has two locations in Green Bay Wisconsin and are a fairly large dealership. They almost have a monopoly over the new vehicle industry, they sell everything from General Motors, Ford, Jeep, and Volkswagon.
The sales agent play it straight up and don’t pressure you into purchasing a vehicle although they appear to be more interested in making the company money than saving you money, they will help you find a vehicle that suits you. There are deals to be found sometimes in their used car inventory and if you offer too low they will let you walk away rather than negotiate their position or convince you to pay their price.
My recommendations for this dealership is before you buy a vehicle get them so low on their offer that they tell you they can’t do it and let you go and then come back the next day with either a higher offer or tell them you’ve changed your mind.
Chrysler World
I had the experience of going to this dealership with a friend on a sales event day. Be prepared to fill out an information sheet before you are allowed to test drive anything and most of the time before they will answer any of your questions about their vehicles. They will tell you it’s a necessary step and that in order to do certain things they need this information, but they don’t. They tried to get as much information out of me and my friend as possible, (even social security numbers), so they could run a credit check on us to get an idea what you could and couldn’t buy on the lot before before we were even allowed to test drive or talk to them about a vehicle we wanted.
When going into a car dealership you don’t have to give them anything but your driver’s license and possibly a phone # to test drive. You definitely do not have to give them any information and if they refuse to answer your questions or let you test drive without you providing them with information beyond your driver’s license and phone #, just leave. It’s not worth your time and these guys don”t have the best of deals anyway. They asked a friend of mine his marital status, as if that has anything to do with buying a vehicle.
Koehne
These guys were more than eager to provide me with an inventory sheet that showed exactly what they “had” into the car in order to justify their position of not going lower.
Now I don’t know if the sheet was real or not but I did have the opportunity of sitting through a 5-10 minute lecture on how they try to protect the dealership from losses and can only offer “wholesale” value on vehicles for trade-in pricing. Ironically, the money they put into their vehicles on the lot were fairly close to the retail value of the vehicle which contradicts their objective of protecting themselves from losses.
I don’t know why the vehicles on the sheet showed they had almost as much into them as they were selling for. You would think that if they are offering me wholesale value of 13,000 on a vehicle that retails for 18,000 that there would be room for them to lower the price.
Make sure you do your own research on your trade-in and never, never, accept wholesale auction values as trade-in, because you don’t have access to that information and you can bet they are going to ignore the options and condition of your vehicle and pick a price of a vehicle that may not even be configured the same as the vehicle you are trading in.

For those whose view of the traditional camping experience is filled with little more than mosquitoes, dirty clothes, and too much wildlife, beach camping can provide a more pleasant alternative. It is a wonderful and budget friendly means of getting a front row seat to astounding sunrises and sunsets. You can swim all day and listen to the rolling waves of the ocean before you fall soundly asleep.
There are many beaches that are now camper friendly. Most have posted signs to tell you whether they permit camping; or instead, you can check their web site for details. Some beaches have actual campsites located right on or near the beach. Once you’ve made the emotional commitment to try this form of camping, making a reservation will ensure an available spot, as these are very popular campsites.
Before you head to the beach to do some relaxing camping, you need to come with a few essentials. First, a beach tent will keep out the early morning sun. These are typically designed as pop up tents that work well in the sand, and can be priced as low as under $20.00.
Prior to your trip, inquire ahead of time whether the beach that you will be camping on allows bonfires. Although some do, they might require a permit, while others do not allow them at all. If you have the opportunity to spend time on a beach that does, come prepared with lighter fluid, matches, and of course your sticks on which to cook s’mores. If the beach does not permit a bonfire, then at least bring a portable stove so you can cook your meals out on the beach.
Most people who opt for beach camping do not do so because of the hiking experience, or even to enjoy communing with nature. Rather, it is for the romantic atmosphere of the ocean and fun for the kids. Few ever have the great experience of living directly on a beach. But for a night or a weekend, your whole family can experience the allure that draws the large beach crowds and what it is like to sleep and play on the beach 24 hours a day.
The next time you plan a camping excursion, consider foregoing the traditional campsites in the middle of the woods and instead enjoy the relaxing and untraditional experience of camping on a beach. Whether you are simply a beach lover or want to wake up and jump right in the ocean as the sun rises, this is a wonderful way to spend a night or weekend.

Some cats like to forage in the garbage can and eat leftovers. Aside from being messy, this habit can be dangerous. Your cat may accidentally come into contact with cleaning products or other poisonous substances, or he could eat bones that could splinter.
If you catch your cat in the garbage, do not rub his face in the trash. Clap your hands loudly and say no. Pick him up and move him to another room. To keep your cat out of the trash when you are not around, make sure that the garbage can lid is securely attached or buy a lid that he can not open.
You can also move the garbage can to a pantry under the hallway or place it in a cabinet under the sink. Another solution is to empty out the garbage before you go to bed. Most garbage picking adventures occur in the middle of the night.
Although behavior problems can be frustrating, do not give up on your cat and decide that he is not worth the time or effort to make him well again. Most cats turned into animal shelters have been given up on by their owners because they have a problem.
Cats do not misbehave out of spite, they may simply just be doing things that seem natural to them. Cats will often misbehave to get your attention. A sudden bout of unwanted behavior could be an indication of a medical problem. Cats who do not get enough play or interaction with their owners can become bored, restless, and develop behavior problems.
Sadly, these cats are often considered unadoptable and are never given another chance at life. With a little patience, understanding, and reinforcement, you can modify your cat’s behavior problems and restore harmony to your home.

While computers are now an important part of the lives of human beings, there was a time where computers did not exist. Knowing the history of computers and how much progression has been made can help you understand just how complicated and innovative the creation of computers really is.
Unlike most devices, the computer is one of the few inventions that does not have one specific inventor. Throughout the development of the computer, many people have added their creations to the list required to make a computer work. Some of the inventions have been different types of computers, and some of them were parts required to allow computers to be developed further.
The Beginning
Perhaps the most significant date in the history of computers is the year 1936. It was in this year that the first “computer” was developed. It was created by Konrad Zuse and dubbed the Z1 Computer. This computer stands as the first as it was the first system to be fully programmable. There were devices prior to this, but none had the computing power that sets it apart from other electronics.
It wasn’t until 1942 that any business saw profit and opportunity in computers. This first company was called ABC computers, owned and operated by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry. Two years later, the Harvard Mark I computer was developed, furthering the science of computing.
Over the course of the next few years, inventors all over the world began to search more into the study of computers, and how to improve upon them. Those next ten years say the introduction of the transistor, which would become a vital part of the inner workings of the computer, the ENIAC 1 computer, as well as many other types of systems. The ENIAC 1 is perhaps one of the most interesting, as it required 20,000 vacuum tubes to operate. It was a massive machine, and started the revolution to build smaller and faster computers.
The age of computers was forever altered by the introduction of International Business Machines, or IBM, into the computing industry in 1953. This company, over the course of computer history, has been a major player in the development of new systems and servers for public and private use. This introduction brought about the first real signs of competition within computing history, which helped to spur faster and better development of computers. Their first contribution was the IBM 701 EDPM Computer.
A Programming Language Evolves
A year later, the first successful high level programming language was created. This was a programming language not written in ‘assembly’ or binary, which are considered very low level languages. FORTRAN was written so that more people could begin to program computers easily.
The year 1955, the Bank of America, coupled with Stanford Research Institute and General Electric, saw the creation of the first computers for use in banks. The MICR, or Magnetic Ink Character Recognition, coupled with the actual computer, the ERMA, was a breakthrough for the banking industry. It wasn’t until 1959 that the pair of systems were put into use in actual banks.
During 1958, one of the most important breakthroughs in computer history occurred, the creation of the integrated circuit. This device, also known as the chip, is one of the base requirements for modern computer systems. On every motherboard and card within a computer system, are many chips that contain information on what the boards and cards do. Without these chips, the systems as we know them today cannot function.
Gaming, Mice, & the Internet
For many computer users now, games are a vital part of the computing experience. 1962 saw the creation of the first computer game, which was created by Steve Russel and MIT, which was dubbed Spacewar.
The mouse, one of the most basic components of modern computers, was created in 1964 by Douglass Engelbart. It obtained its name from the “tail” leading out of the device.
One of the most important aspects of computers today was invented in 1969. ARPA net was the original Internet, which provided the foundation for the Internet that we know today. This development would result in the evolution of knowledge and business across the entire planet.
It wasn’t until 1970 that Intel entered the scene with the first dynamic RAM chip, which resulted in an explosion of computer science innovation.
On the heels of the RAM chip was the first microprocessor, which was also designed by Intel. These two components, in addition to the chip developed in 1958, would number among the core components of modern computers.
A year later, the floppy disk was created, gaining its name from the flexibility of the storage unit. This was the first step in allowing most people to transfer bits of data between unconnected computers.
The first networking card was created in 1973, allowing data transfer between connected computers. This is similar to the Internet, but allows for the computers to connect without use of the Internet.
Household PC’s Emerge
The next three years were very important for computers. This is when companies began to develop systems for the average consumer. The Scelbi, Mark-8 Altair, IBM 5100, Apple I and II, TRS-80, and the Commodore Pet computers were the forerunners in this area. While expensive, these machines started the trend for computers within common households.
One of the most major breathroughs in computer software occurred in 1978 with the release of the VisiCalc Spreadsheet program. All development costs were paid for within a two week period of time, which makes this one of the most successful programs in computer history.
1979 was perhaps one of the most important years for the home computer user. This is the year that WordStar, the first word processing program, was released to the public for sale. This drastically altered the usefulness of computers for the everyday user.
The IBM Home computer quickly helped revolutionize the consumer market in 1981, as it was affordable for home owners and standard consumers. 1981 also saw the the mega-giant Microsoft enter the scene with the MS-DOS operating system. This operating system utterly changed computing forever, as it was easy enough for everyone to learn.
The Competition Begins : Apple vs. Microsoft
Computers saw yet another vital change during the year of 1983. The Apple Lisa computer was the first with a graphical user interface, or a GUI. Most modern programs contain a GUI, which allows them to be easy to use and pleasing for the eyes. This marked the beginning of the out dating of most text based only programs.
Beyond this point in computer history, many changes and alterations have occurred, from the Apple-Microsoft wars, to the developing of microcomputers and a variety of computer breakthroughs that have become an accepted part of our daily lives. Without the initial first steps of computer history, none of this would have been possible.

Brushes are the most important tools for a great watercolor painting. Having said this buying those watercolor brushes is not something to decide on lightly, but a decision that should be made carefully and well thought of. Now for most artists a brush is personal they have a particular touch and feel with a brush. This touch and feel is much more important then the price of a brush. So the most important factor is the emotional feelings you have with your watercolor brush do not let money come in between. Fact is that any brush, being it cheap or expensive will only last as well as it is cared for, clean and store your watercolor brushes and watercolor supplies properly doing so is even more important than deciding if you want buy a expensive sable brush.
That is why I will tell you a bit on cleaning and storing your valuable brushes first before we move on making a choice on which watercolor brush to buy. Like said before the care of your brushes will determine the time you spend with one brush, taking good care will prolong the lifetime of your brush making it worth wild the effort you spend on cleaning and storing the watercolor brush. Clean your brushes straight after you finished using them. You can use a mild soap as a little help. But make sure you rinse thoroughly and make sure before you lay your brush flat to dry the water runs clear. Watercolor brushes should never be left sitting in a glass of water. Instead of laying it flat you can also hang it to dry but handle up tuft down never leave it hanging handle up, this will make the water run in to the ferrule dissolving the hairs, in other words killing your brushes. Another consideration is that you every ones and a while condition the sable hair or any natural hair for that matter. You can either buy a separate brush conditioner or use the special brush soaps that contain conditioner.
Another thing to consider is the type of watercolor brushes you want to use for your watercolor painting. The hair of the brush is what firstly determines what type of brush it is and for what to use it. It might be that natural hair brushes are more expensive, they do create great results, not always the same but almost always superior results over synthetic brushes. Sable hair brushes are probably the most popular and expensive brushes around but well worth it. The brushes are soft haired that move the paint easily and keep their point. The best sable brushes are just great for watercolor painting. Squirrel hair is also used to make watercolor brushes, they are not as expensive as the sable hair brushes but have a different feel. Synthetic brushes are also common for artists to use. These are generally less expensive and do not produce the same quality of paint work. Paint brushes are an artist tools and so very personal I always relied on kolinsky sable and Siberian squirrel brushes as being the best in class and giving the best personal feeling.
Another factor defining a brush is the handle. The long handled brush is usually used for oil painting since the artist is standing at an easel. Shorter handled brushes are for watercolor artist and acrylics artist because most of the time the artist is sitting down and painting in greater detail.
Even if you buy a complete paint set; easel, paint, brushes, paper or canvas pay a lot of attention on the details of the different products and of course the watercolor brushes. Use the information in this article and spend your money wise.

It’s 1a.m. in the morning, & you’re suddenly woken up from your sleep by the sound of the phone ringing. You look at the caller ID display & it shows a cell phone number that you don’t recognize. Exhausted, you decide not to answer it, instead pulling the covers over your head to try & go back to sleep.
Every thing’s quiet for the rest of the night with no more rude interruptions. However the next night, this time at 2.10am, the phone starts ringing again. Bleary eyed, you have a look at the phone number on the screen & it’s the same cell phone number again. By now, you’re starting to get rather annoyed. This is the second night in a row they’ve so rudely woken you up. To make matters worse, just over 20 minutes later at 2.35am, they ring again, just as you were starting to drift back off to sleep.
The next morning, after having your third cup of coffee in an effort to wake yourself up for work, you decide that something has to be done. Another sleep interrupted night will not go down well!
This is where a reverse cell phone look up can come in handy. Using a reverse cell phone look up service, you can run a search on that cell phone number you’ve written down from the last two nights & find out once & for all who’s been calling you. You’ll be able to learn their name, address, phone carrier, neighbors & often much more very useful information.
Once you know who the number belongs to, you can then look at ways to make sure the early morning phone calls don’t happen ever again - contacting the caller, contacting the police or blocking the phone number.
If you’ve had enough of annoying phone calls from an unknown cell number, then using a reverse cell phone look up service is an essential step towards putting an end to it. Click on the link to have a look at the leading provider of reverse cell phone look up services in the world & stop those nuisance calls once & for all.

I’ve got great news for you. If you’re a “techno-dummy” like me, you’ll love this traffic-generating tip.
Article marketing is the very best free, leveraged traffic-generating method I have ever found.
As an author or info marketer, nothing is more important to the life of your business than fresh, targeted traffic from Google and other search engine on the Net.
When it comes to free traffic, nothing is easier than repurposing (transcribing) your virtual book tour interviews or teleseminar content into delicious Google “spider” food with articles From a sixty to seventy minute recorded interview you can easily create eight to twelve great articles Then your next step is simple submitting your articles to the Article Directories that offer free submission.
My favorite free submission Article Directory is EzineArticles.com and with nearly 100 articles I’ve “written with my mouth” (not with my hands) I get nearly 25,000 unique visitors to my blog each month. For free.
As an author, you can write articles about the topic of your book and you can create articles from the content of your book. Articles about are simply content about the topic of your book. Articles from your book are created by taking excerpts from your book in chunks of 300 to 500 words and turning them into articles
So this approach works for both authors and authors-to-be. And you must get over two things:
1. The fear that you will “give away the store” with articles from and about your book, and
2. Your reluctance to “give away” your information for free in your articles
These strategies simply help you sell more books and info products, faster, easier and with less human effort.
And are you ready to learn more about how I do it?
Then I invite you to check out http://www.AlexMandossian.com and look for the Virtual Book Tour Systems link.
Fair enough?

You are think you want to start a business in the UK, but you are not quite sure where to start. Well let`s take a look at what you have to do so you have a better idea of what you need to do. You will need money for the filing fee, all necessary forms and an address in the area.
First you need to have an address in the UK. The address can be in England, Scotland or Wales; this will be the official company address. If you live in the UK you will not have a problem with this. If you do not live in the UK you can pay an annual fee to a solicitor to use their office address. If you chose to do this you will be responsible for leaving a copy of all company documents at this address.
You now need to fill out the Companies House Form 10. This form will have questions about the companies officers; secretary, directors etc. You can get this form online or request it through the mail from Companies House.
Now write a memorandum of association for your business. This needs to state the company name, the situation of the registered office, the objects and liabilities of the company.
You will also want to write Articles of Incorporation. This will give the internal management information and who the company will run. Each subscriber to the shares should sign this article. These Associations are not provided by the Companies House but you can purchase them a legal stationer.
You also need to complete the Companies House Form 12. The states you are compliant with the Companies Act 1985. You must sign this form in the presence of a solicitor, commissioner of oaths, notary public or justice of the peace. This should be done after you have completed the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association.
Now that you have all your documents ready you can submit them to the Companies House of England and Wales. You want to also be sure that you include the filing fee with your paperwork. The current filing fee is £20 (pounds sterling) for the standard service which will get your business registered within 10 business days. Or you can chose to get the express service which is £50 (pounds sterling) and your business will be registered the same day. If you are mailing in the forms and you want the express service it is necessary to write in bold print SAME DAY INCORPORATION on the envelop so that it receives immediate attention. It is a good idea to make sure that the business name you want to register is available you can do this in two ways; on is to call the Contact Centre or by using the online WebCheck service.
It is a good idea to open a bank account for that business once it is registered. The two most popular banks for a business in the UK are Barclays and HSBC.
If you want to know more about UK Business Registration then I would recommend you to visit Register a Company UK.

When you use the card to book your car rental or other aspects of your trip, you’ll also probably be entitled to car rental insurance, which means you don’t have to pay for it through the car rental company. This basically gives you a buy-one, get-one on your flight tickets, allowing you and your partner to travel for the price of one. Check your credit cards, most of the travel rewards cards offer free or discounted car rental. It’s extremely important, however, that you don’t run out and apply to every rewards credit card you see in order to increase the reward’s options you have available to you. You may have to use this card for several months to build up enough rewards (remember to pay your balance in full each month to avoid interest and finance fees!
Use the car rental rewards, as well as car rental insurance coverage offered from the majority of credit cards. Emergency roadside assistance coverage saves you if you break down! Debbie Dragon is a writer for Creditorweb. Depending on the card, you may also receive a night or two free hotel stay while your car is worked on; making this common credit card “extra” benefit invaluable for road trip travelers. If your idea of a great vacation is one in which you hit the open road and drive whichever way the wind takes you; you’ll want to have a credit card that includes emergency roadside assistance. Read these tips on how to save money on your next vacation by using your credit card rewards program to help pay the costs: * Sign up for a credit card that’s offering a free companion airfare to all new account holders. Another common reward offered by credit cards includes the ability to receive discounted meals in certain restaurants. Stay two to four nights for free in a hotel, by using a credit card with a hotel rewards program. Using credit card rewards and incentives to make a vacation affordable is a good strategy that many people have learned to use. Vacation destinations such as Disneyland often give special discount offers that can add up to big savings. With the current down swing of the economy, many people are feeling the pinch and having to cut back on many non-essentials. Take advantage of all the discount offers, package vacation deals and reward points programs you can when going on vacation and travel happily, knowing that you’re saving money every time you take out your wallet. Vacation destinations such as Disneyland often give special discount offers that can add up to big savings. If you break down, you’re covered.
With a little research and careful planning, you can take full advantage of rewards programs and credit card offers to take an affordable vacation. They’ll come fix your car at the location, or tow you to the closest service station to make repairs. In addition to these rewards, you can save on your food bill while on vacation if you stay at hotels that offer free continental breakfast! Don’t forget to take advantage of dining and restaurant discounts and rewards. Instead, check the credit cards you already own to see what rewards and incentives you may already be entitled to (and perhaps even unaware of!
