The largest organ of the body is the skin. It is made-up of three layers, namely: 1) The epidermis 2) The dermis 3) The subcutaneous layer.
The skin acts as a shield between the body and millions of foreign substances which exist in the environment where we live. It also functions as a means of excreting toxin and other substances from the body, just like the kidneys and the bowels do. Because of this, the skin undergoes several changes in the development of bumps and blisters as well as changing in color, cracking, dryness, flaking, itching, redness, scaling, thickening and many other problems. A lot of things are responsible for these skin reactions, and some of them are: allergies to molds, food, chemicals, cosmetics, insect bite, reactions to plants such as poison ivy, diaper rash, reactions to the sun and wind, reactions to drugs or alcohol, reactions to detergents, etc.
Just a few people have a perfect glowing skin, as majority of others would have to work hard if they really want to achieve a beautiful and glowing skin. Care must be taken on what we apply on our skin. For ladies, skin care is very important because of their exposure to the hazards of nature on a daily basis. No matter how beautiful and pore less your skin might be as a baby, as you grow into maturity, your skin will begin to change. These changes are caused by hormones. In order to look young and beautiful, you need to take care of your skin. Your skin reflects your thoughts, feelings and lifestyle.
SKIN TYPES:
OIL SKIN: This type of skin has light visible pores and often begins to shine after make-up is applied.
DRY SKIN: This type of skin has fine pores, and it is sensitive. Areas that are mostly affected are; Hands, legs and face.
NORMAL SKIN: This type of skin has good texture and has tiny pores. It has balanced oil and water content. Feels smooth and velvety, but also needs care.
Skin provides a natural protective shield for the entire body. It helps to transmit nutrients to the hair and the nails. It also helps to regulate body temperature and even eliminates certain wastes in the form of perspiration. Diet, hormones, climate, drugs, emotions, health and physical traumas, all affect the skin. Regardless of the type of skin you have, never use a harsh deodorant soap on your face. For those with oily skin, it is advised that they cleanse their face at least twice daily and exfoliate the entire body gently to remove cells that are dead and also prevent pores that are blocked which are likely to cause black-heads and other blemishes .After washing your face with a mild soap or cleanser, use astringent to remove all traces of soap. After this, apply a moisturizer. Those with senile skin should take note if their skin complexions react to various cosmetics. Fortunately, there is abundance of skin-care make-up products formulated especially for sensitive skins.
Don’t forget the rest of your body. Apply moisture cream to keep your entire body soft and supple. Also, pay special attention to the trouble spots. i.e., hands, knees and feet because they have fewer oil glands. To remedy dry, rough cracked feet, smooth- on oil rich lotion or petroleum jelly and then put on socks before going to bed. Thousands of women, young and old, attest to this home remedy. If you have calluses on your hands or feet, visit a dermatologist to have them shaved off. As the weather gets warmer, there is a greater incidence of acne, fungal growth, such as athlete’s foot, and skin yeast infection.

For those visitors who decide to venture into the wilds of North Yorkshire and the rugged coastline near Whitby, you must remember that this whole area is perfect for a holiday. Travel a few miles inland from the coast and there’s whole world to explore and, I think, some of the best scenery in the whole of the UK. Quite a claim, I hear you say!
Even the most die-hard beach lover or sea fisherman should not come to Whitby without exploring a little of the unique countryside that surrounds it. Whitby lies on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, a unique national park containing more than 2,300kms of paths and tracks. The Moors provide a true opportunity to get away from it all, with their rugged landscape of purple heather, hidden valleys and panoramic views.
Those looking to stay close to the coast can enjoy the Cleveland Way, a path running the length of the North Yorkshire coast - although several days walk in its entirety, it is split into shorter lengths that can easily be managed in a comfortable walk, and which form part of a convenient circular route, bringing you back to where you started.
Those of a more adventurous bent might like to take the Moorsbus from Whitby out into the heart of the moors and start their walking from there. The Moorsbus is a service organised by the National Park which runs small buses to every corner of the moors - a much easier way to explore than in a car, especially in peak season when parking is often very difficult or prohibited.

Aromatherapy benefits every individual in unique ways.
Just as each essential oil can affect different people in different ways, the depth and variety of benefits to aromatherapy will depend on the “artist.” Some will be interested for the pleasure it brings, others for the mental and physical health benefits. For some it becomes a hobby (such as “make your own” products); for others it becomes a career.
Wherever you are in your exploration of aromatherapy benefits, it is fun to know what avenues are available. This scope includes:
pleasure mental and physical health household use personal care career
Personal pleasure is often the starting point for many. Everyone enjoys pleasant aromas. They can enhance a relaxing or romantic time with the “right” mood and, perhaps a pleasurable massage. Beyond that, the decorative accessories now available are a fun area to explore. Many people enjoy pursuing the benefits of an aromatherapy “make-your-own” hobby. This can include “make-your-own” essential oil blends, candles, cosmetics, perfumes, soaps, hair and skin care, bath salts, massage oils and household products, even make your own essential oils.
Others are seeking help with health issues when they stumble upon aromatherapy. Aromatherapy offers many benefits in this area including preventative, healing, and recovery. Some of the health-enhancing benefits of different aromatherapy oils include: anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties, relaxation and stress reduction, immune system stimulation, circulation and digestion aid, anti-inflammatory, seal wounds and promote healing, etc.
In your household, the benefits of aromatherapy include use as a bug or pest repellent, for cleaning and sanitizing, as an air freshener, and as a deodorizer in areas like trash cans and bathrooms.
If you wish to reap the benefits of aromatherapy applications without a “make-your-own” hobby, most all are available in the ready-made form also. Though local health food stores often carry a very basic selection of aromatherapy products, they don’t usually go beyond basic. The web is your best source for anything more. There you can find a wide selection of a large variety of aromatherapy products (equipment, soaps, salts, less common oils, candles, skin care, cleaning products, and more).
For many, this hobby and interest has turned into more, as they develop a desire to share the benefits of aromatherapy with others. There are numerous avenues to do so, from entrepreneurial to certifications in a variety of areas.
Whichever stage you are at, whatever needs or interest you have, always follow your own path in pursuit of your unique expression of the art of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy benefits not just you, but all those around you, just as the pursuit of any other art does.
And always remember, Enjoy The Journey!

Trees are made up of three main components: the roots, the leaves and the woody structure that connects them. The function of the roots is to bring the water and minerals to the rest of the tree. The leaves also serve to feed the tree. They absorb carbon dioxide from the air and use sunlight to combine this gas with the moisture brought up from the roots, making the simple sugars which feed the tree giving off oxygen as a byproduct.
That is the true magic of trees; they feed off of a toxic gas and provide clean oxygen in return. They are truly the earths air filter. According to David Nowak of the USDA Forest Service a persons oxygen needs could be supplied by two trees. To make up for the carbon dioxide created by the average household with a single car would take about 1/6th of an acre of trees (so start planting).
The woody structure, including the trunk, branches and twigs hold the trees leaves in position to receive the life-giving sunlight and carbon dioxide; they also act as a means of carrying the raw materials and nutrients back and forth between the roots and the leaves. The moisture taken up by the roots is pulled up by a process of capillary attraction and the osmotic action induced by the evaporation of water from the leaves. This loss of water through the leaves is called transpiration.
On a warm summer day, a single birch tree may transpire as much as 900 gallons of water. This enormous flow of water causes a continuous flow of tree sap from the roots of the tree to the uppermost leaves.
When moving a tree or working around an existing tree that you wish to preserve, the highest priority is to protect the root structure of the tree itself. The larger roots at the trunk anchor the tree to the ground and stabilize it, while the small root-hairs at the ends of the rootlets absorb the water from the ground.
The trunk of a tree is made up of the bark, the wood and the pith. The pith is the middle section surrounded by the wood. Between the wood and exterior bark is a thin layer that creates new wood on the inside and bark on the outside. This layer is known as the cambium layer. When the cambium ring is severed the tree is killed, such as when a fence wire is wrapped around a tree and wears through the bark. Damage to the cambium layer also makes a tree vulnerable to insects and disease, so anything driven into it can wound a tree severely.
Besides man himself, trees have many natural enemies. There are more than 200,000 known insects that attack trees. Diseases, such as blight, rust, and rot, just to name a few can cause tremendous amounts of damage to trees or groupings of trees. High winds, ice storms and droughts can also create a great deal of havoc with trees. Fortunately, trees have several thing going for them. They are extremely resilient and can survive even serious damage, storms and droughts are not terribly common and birds ally themselves with tree to keep most of the insects in check.

One of the biggest benefits of using an elliptical trainer is that you can get a dual action workout. A few models of stationary bikes allows for a dual action workout, but the vast majority of them do not. There are no treadmills that provide a dual action workout, because all of them are focused entirely on the action of walking. The benefits of using elliptical trainers is that you get a full body workout, instead of just focusing on the muscles in your lower body.
The first type of workout you get on the elliptical trainer is walking. You move your feet in stirrups without lifting your legs-that is why it is a called a no-impact work out. The benefits of using elliptical trainers includes being kind to your knee, hip, and ankle joints without losing the intensity of a good, physical workout. The second part of the workout involves working the biceps, shoulders, triceps, chests, and back. This is the additional benefit that a treadmill or a stationary bike simply can’t offer. On top of that, you can get a good aerobic exercise on an elliptical trainer. It is recommended for everybody to get at least twenty minutes of aerobic exercise three times per week. You can reach an elevated pulse rate and sustain it for at least twenty minutes easily on your elliptical trainer.
Ultimately, working all of these different muscle groups will give you a toner, fitter body. The workout is more even. You will also lose weight, tighten your muscles, and improve the health of your cardiovascular system.

Asparagus raclette or indoor grilling is so much fun to do with a group of your favorite people. Raclette has a long history but it has evolved to a social gathering of friends and family and providing a fun way to eat together.
This vegetable recipe for raclette grilling is just as delicious as traditional raclette, but appeals to those that like more vegetables with their meat.
What you’ll need:
- 2 lbs/1kg small new potatoes (cooked)
- 1 1/2 lbs/800g Swiss Raclette cheese (cut into slices)
- asparagus spears (parboiled or sauteed crisply)
- proscuitto or parma ham
- broccoli, carrots and beans (steamed lightly)
- Baguettes
- Gherkins, pickled onions
Prepare your raclette dinner or appetizer just as you would for traditional Swiss raclette. Include aparagus spears wrapped in a selectin of hams. You can also substitute the carrots and beans for the aspargus.
Place the wrapped vegetables in a side dish to be served later. When you are ready, place the wrapped vegetables on a small raclette dish and top with a slice of the Raclette cheese. Place the dish under the grill and cook until cheese is bubbly.
Serve the cooked vegetables with the potatoes and other condiments and baquette slices.
You should count on using about 1/4 lb of Raclette cheese per person and have more vegetables ready than you think you’ll need as this type of Raclette tends to disappear quickly! It’s a fun way to get together, have a meal or appetizer and of course, have a great time.

Understanding how your website interacts with both the search engines and your human visitors is crucial to internet marketing success. For instance, most people might be tempted to think visitors generally enter sites through the home page. But that’s not the case. By far most of your visitors will reach your page via a search engine-unless you paid for their visit with pay per click. Furthermore they’ll enter your site through a page other than your home page. The reason this happens is it’s the page that shows up in someone’s search engine results-not the webpage.
To get visitors we have to create website pages that Google likes. (If Google likes them, then Yahoo! and MSN will, too.) The “big name” for creating your page so that Google and other search engines “like” it is called search engine optimization, or SEO for short.
Although what you and I see on a webpage through our browser window looks like just text (same as in a book), there’s really a little bit more going on under the hood.
Your webpage is written in a formatting language called HTML. A browser is basically a piece of software that turns the HTML into something more human friendly, something readable.
If you want to look at the code that makes a webpage, you need look no further than any page you’re looking on at the moment. Just take a random page, and you can see its source HTML by clicking on “view”, then “source” or “page source” in the toolbar of your web browser. If you’re doing this on a webpage in your browser window, you’ll notice that your webpage disappeared and was replaced by the HTML source code.
All that stuff you see is the HTML that makes your webpage.
In order to begin to understand how to massage your page so that Google loves it, I need you to understand the basic structure of an HTML page.
Web pages are broken up into two sections, the Head and the Body. The Head contains information that search engines might need about the page. The Body is what you and I actually read and see when we look at the page through a browser.
If you’re looking at a webpage’s source code, you’ll see a lot of words between these angle brackets, .
These are called tags, and they serve several purposes depending on which part of the webpage they’re found in.
There are three tags that are really important for search engine optimization purposes.
They are:
- the title tag
- the meta keyword tag
- and the meta description tag
The title tag defines the title of your document. The meta tags hold information for the search engines.
When you optimize your page for a certain keyword phrase, you’ll need to make the title of the page that keyword phrase, as well and make it the first phrase in your keywords meta tag. Also, in the meta description, you’ll need to have a sentence with that same keyword phrase in it, with all of the words in the same order as in the title and the meta keywords tag.

RV camping is one of the most comfortable as well as interesting ways to spend your vacation. You just need to get your RV camping supplies in order, and enjoy the most fantastic camping adventures. When you are camping with your RV, you would not have to curb the niggling voice inside your head that says-’What if?’ when it looks at the extra camping equipment you are leaving behind at home due to paucity of space. You will have plenty of space in your RV to carry all your camping supplies- from hammocks and camp chairs to fishing poles and from Dutch ovens to portable grills. Take all the camping supplies that you need in your RV, to really enjoy to the fullest.
By formulating a camping gear checklist, you can make sure that you are not leaving behind or missing out on any important RV camping supply. Some possible headings that this checklist may be divided into are camp cooking equipment, emergency gear, outdoor activities and recreation gear and other miscellaneous camping supplies.
Most RV camping supplies ensure your comfort. For example, during the hot, sunny months of summer, a RV awning comes in handy. You can put up your camp chairs inside the shade of this awning and in fact, you can even use its protection when it rains. The RV window covers make your RV stay cool inside and thus are extremely useful.
The Internet is a great way to look for RV camping supplies. In fact, you can not only find all varieties of this camping gear online, but can also do the price comparison and thus get the best deal. And all this can be done from the comfort of your own home, on your computer.
You do need to follow some campground rules and regulations and also be considerate towards your neighbors if you are camping at a campground in a RV. Since there are many other campers on the campground, you need to take care of a few basic things. For example, it would be a wise idea to turn off your RV generator during nighttime as its noise might disturb your neighbors at the camp.
Also, it is not considered as decent manners if you fill your RV tank with the water supply of the campground. You must be considerate enough to keep the level of noise in your camp down, not leave garbage outside, lest it attracts animals and also not build a fire near the other camper’s tents. Also, make sure you have a constant eye on your children and your pets incase they might be in the mood for mischief.

DVD scratch repair is the first thing that crops up in our mind when we see our favorite movie on DVD skipping, stuttering or not moving ahead. When you remove the DVD, you see some marks or scratches on the surface of the DVD. Here are some steps to fixing a scratched DVD:
1. The most popular home remedy for DVD scratch repair is by cleaning the DVD scratch itself. Take a bit of fluoride toothpaste and revolve the paste all around the surface of the DVD. After this, all you do is take a soft clean piece of lint-free(the ones used for cleaning the eyeglass) cloth and clean it. Insert the DVD and you should be able to play it without any problems.
2. Like toothpaste, cleaners, polishes and alcohol can all be effective as DVD scratch removers to some extent. Always use solutions that you use on glass, for instance Windex or the Amway glass cleaner. Do not use stuff that can be used to clean the floors or bathroom flooring. These can in fact harm the DVDs.
3. Solutions that are specially made for DVD scratch removal or DVD scratch repair are quite effective. The DVD repair kit comes with a DVD cleaning solution and a cloth. You can apply it on the DVD from the cloth and start cleaning from the center of the disk to the edge in a straight line. Do not clean your DVD in a circular motion but from the middle to the outside. Make sure you rub the DVD gently.
4. You can also spray the DVD cleaning solution onto the DVD and then run the DVD in the DVD player to give an all-round cleaning to the DVD disc.

If you are ready to embark on the experience of a lifetime, consider a camping trip to Glacier National Park. Camping anywhere is a great way to enjoy bonding time as a family and learn more about nature and all it has to offer. But camping in the 1.4 million acres of incredible wilderness at Glacier National Park is so much more, perhaps something along the lines of a magnificent adventure!
This fantastic park in the rugged Rocky Mountains of Montana has 13 major campgrounds and a variety of backcountry sites for more experienced backpackers. It was once the home of the Blackfoot and Kootenai Indian tribes and many sites in the park are still part of their sacred culture. There are over 50 glaciers, 200 lakes and streams, a wonderful variety of wildlife and over 730 miles of trails for hikers and backpackers. You can only imagine the amazing experiences awaiting you there.
Here are some tips we hope will help to make your vacation there a very safe and memorable one.
1. First, be sure and get permits and other necessary information taken care of ahead of time. Some camping areas may be reserved and others are first come first served. Some campsites require permits and fees, while others are free. It is also important to camp only in the designated camping areas. For reservation information you can call the National Park Reservation Service at 1-800-365-2267.
2. NEVER FEED OR APPROACH WILD ANIMALS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
3. There are several types of bears as well as mountain lions common in Glacier National Park. It is the instinct of such animals to be alert for food and as they tend to be curious by nature, visitors must be very careful not to attract them by leaving out food or food scraps. Tightly secure all food after meals and clean up all possible clothing, utensils, or personal toiletries that might draw animals to the site. Bring bear resistant containers or be prepared to hang food stuffs at 10 feet off the ground.
4. For various ecological reasons you are not allowed to gather firewood from the woods or roads near the campgrounds. There are a few designated areas where campers can collect firewood or it can be purchased at stores within the park. Camp fires should only be built inside the fire grates provided.
5. Be aware that pets are not allowed on any of the parks walking trails, backcountry, or on the shores of the lakes. For the safety of your pet and your fellow campers, you must keep them on a leash of no more than 6 feet, or else in a cage or a vehicle at all times. If necessary, kennel space is available near the park. As is common in any park you should scoop up any pet wastes and deposit in a garbage can.
6. Be sure you pitch your tents only on pads provided or areas designated as campsites and not in areas where camping is prohibited. While there are group campsites available, most are limited to eight people and two vehicles per site. Drinking water and flush toilets are available at most of the campgrounds, but no utility hookups are provided. Disposal stations are available at some of the larger campgrounds.
7. Remember to plan for trash and waste products. The motto at the park is “pack it in, pack it out”. Bury human waste and pack out all toilet paper, food litter, empty containers, etc. Try to leave your campsite and the surrounding area as clean and natural as you found it.
8. Bike riding, sports fishing and other such activities are permitted at the park but there are specific rules you must follow for each. Be sure to know what is acceptable before beginning your particular adventure for the day.
9. The temperatures in higher altitudes like Glacier National Park get down near freezing most nights of the year. Also the weather can change from clear skies and sunshine to thunderstorms very quickly so be prepared for a variety of conditions so you can have a good time regardless of the weather.
10. Make sure you have maps and exact information from the campground where you intend to stay. Be prepared in the areas of emergency gear, footwear, tent equipment, cooking utensils, insect repellents, non-refrigerated foodstuffs, etc. Know what to expect in as much detail as possible so as not to be unpleasantly surprised. Learn as much as you can about the Park, the habits of the wildlife present there, and any activities you would like to participate in, so that you will have the best possible experience.
