Creating First Birthday Keepsakes

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

Creating some first birthday keepsakes of your child is a great way to preserve the memories of their first year. This milestone occasion is the perfect time to create some special mementos of your child. Here are a few creative ways to preserve the memories of your baby first year:

Have Party Guests Help Create a Time Capsule - Make a time capsule for your baby and request that your party guests bring letters, photographs, or other trinkets to add to it. I did this for my son’s first birthday and had a great response.

Make a First Birthday Scrapbook - Buy a bunch of scrapbook supplies. Birthday, baby, or first birthday themed ones would work great. Have each guest create a scrapbook page for the birthday boy or girl. Then take a picture of each guest with the guest of honor and add the photos to the page created by the guest. You will end up with a cool scrapbook keepsake of your baby’s first birthday.

Create a Photo Collage of Baby’s First Year - Create a photo collage using your favorite photos from your baby’s first year. Put it on display at the birthday party. When the party is over, you can hang it in your baby’s room or somewhere in your house if you want!

Create a Handprint/Footprint Mold or Cast - If you haven’t done one yet, now is a great time to create a mold or cast of your baby’s hand and foot prints. Even if you have done one in the past, you may still want to create another one as a special first birthday keepsake.

Earning a Living From Online Casinos

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

There are many ways of earning money. Most people go to work doing a nine to five job and getting paid for it. The coming of the computer age has allowed some people to work from the homes which have also been productive. If work can be done at home, can the same thing happen for someone who wants to do it from joining online casinos?

Gambling and working are two different things. In casinos, there is always the element of chance. The player may make some money in a few hands and may also lose a few. The person may get lucky in a few days but to earn a living from it is totally out of the question.

Not all online gaming sites are the same. Some work in favor of the player while some are in favor of the establishment. Even if a player is able to find a reputable site to frequently play in, the hands may also do well for the other players.

There is another way to make money from the web. That does not involve shelling out money or betting in the games. It can be done by being an affiliate. An affiliate is someone who earns a certain percentage of money for working on an online gambling site.

This is very similar to a lot of electronic business sites wherein a person will get some money for every product that is purchased. The affiliate in the case of online casinos does not have to make any marketing material since this has already been provided by the online site. This works differently depending on the type of program used by the online casino but just like e-business, money is made from each player who logs in.

This can be done by first making a portal website. If the person knows how to do this then there is no problem. Should the person have no idea where to start, then asking the assistance of a professional can help. It is also possible to download a template from the internet for free which can be used as a startup.

After this has been established, then it is time to look for a reputable casino to tie up with. The person should feel comfortable in dealing with these people who can also be contacted anytime if there are any problems. Once an agreement has been reached, money can be made from every referral that is brought in.

Anyone can become an affiliate and the nice thing about it is the person does not have to shell out any money. This is because the online gambling site and has done most of the work and the only thing that needs to be done is to promote it for increased traffic. This partnership is a win-win situation for both parties since this means that revenue is coming in.

There are so many casino affiliate programs to choose from. Before selecting one, it is best to check what the benefits are. Once it has been selected then finding a good online casino site to partner with is the next phase. The person has to be careful where to invest. Some of these online sites are not reputable and are just there to steal money from people.

Whats Involved With Cosmetic Denture Treatment

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

Types Of Cosmetic Denture
There are two main types of Cosmetic denture available:

1. Acrylic (or plastic) Cosmetic dentures
2. Cobalt Chromium (or metal based) Cosmetic dentures - advised when at least some teeth are present

Advantages Of Cobalt Chromium Cosmetic Dentures

1. Better chewing (more stable; less movement of denture)
2. Food more enjoyable (less coverage of the mouth)
3. Stronger (metal is very hard, plastic can fracture)
4. Lighter and thinner (plastic is more bulky)
5. More comfortable
6. More healthy (less gum coverage possible)

Stages In Cosmetic Denture Making

1. The first impressions. Required to make moulds and a custom made special tray.
2. The second impression. A very accurate impression is taken.
3. The bite stage. The complexity of your bite is recorded, and the colour and shape of the teeth chosen. (It is helpful to bring along any old photographs you may have showing your teeth at this visit).
4. The try-in stage. The Cosmetic denture teeth are set up in wax to confirm the appearance, fit and the bite. Your approval and opinion is important here.
5. The fitting stage. The Cosmetic denture is carefully adjusted to fit in place.
6. The review stage. To assess how you are getting on with the Cosmetic denture(s).

Cost Of Cosmetic Denture Treatment
Cosmetic dentists have a consistently high standard of clinical work using modern Cosmetic denture-making techniques. The variables in cost are:

1. The laboratory - An advanced laboratory will have better equipment and materials.
2. The technician - A skilled, experienced technician will produce a higher standard of work compared to an average apprentice technician. This ensures more comfortable and better fitting dentures.
3. The materials used - Cosmetic Denture making technology has really come a long way.

Cosmetic Dentists carefully select the ideal set of teeth for your needs based on the shape of your face, your smile and shade requirements. The quality and strength of plastics, the use of cobalt chromium, the use of gold or tooth coloured clips and many other variables affect the total cost of denture treatment. The Cosmetic Dentist will carefully discuss with you and guide you which Cosmetic denture will best suit your needs and budget.

Modular Office Furniture - Versatile For Your Workplace or Home Office

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

Freestanding modular office furniture (also referred to as contemporary office furniture) is different from workstation or cubicle furniture. The difference is that freestanding furniture is not panel-mounted (attached to panels). However, this type of freestanding furniture can be used in a “bullpen” situation, which is a workspace for several people surrounded by panels for privacy.

New office furniture can be a major purchase for your company, and you should consider all options before making a final decision.

Some of the advantages of modular office furniture are:

Cost Savings - The obvious savings is in the cost of the panels. However, there will also be a substantial savings on installation charges.

Easily Moved/Reconfigured - If you have a maintenance staff, they can handle moving modular office furniture around as little, if any, knockdown and reassembly is required. Think about this when you are in the early decision-making stages.

Additional Pieces - If you think you may want to add additional furniture or accessory pieces, find out what pieces can be ordered later. Ask if there is any chance of that particular furniture line being discontinued.

Many Choices - There are so many options available in style, materials, finishes, etc. Every major furniture manufacturer has their own version of modular office furniture. If you are shopping for a few pieces and know what you want, you can shop at your local office supply store or catalog. However, if you are considering a major purchase I suggest that you go directly to your local office furniture dealership. If you are using an architectural or design firm, they can make suggestions also.

Flexibility - Since flexibility is usually a consideration when using modular furniture, you may want to consider incorporating some mobile furniture pieces into your configuration.

This type of office furniture encourages team work and is particularly effective when staff shares equipment, files, or other office essentials.

Virginia Workers Compensation Denied: The Important Questions

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

If your comp claim was denied for Virginia Worker’s Compensation, then as an injured worker there are some questions you need to ask about the denial of your claim. The insurance company letter will typically say your work place injury & accident is “not compensable” under the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act. You need to ask yourself the following questions:

1. Did you injure yourself in a specific accident or was it a gradually occurring problem (such as tendinitis)?

2. Did you report it to a supervisor immediately and was an Accident Report filled out the day of the accident or at least within two to three days after the accident?

3. Did you immediately go to a doctor or an emergency room that day or at least the following day?

4. If you slipped and fell at work, do you know what caused the fall such as water on the floor, a slippery carpet, etc.?

5. Was there a witness who can confirm your accident and is he or she willing to come forward?

6. Were you under the influence of any drug such as marijuana, cocaine or alcohol at the time of your accident (Many employers will give an injured employee a drug test)?

7. Were you doing a work activity at the time of the accident or were you on a personal mission or errand?

8. Were you the victim of horseplay by a fellow employee?

9. Were you the victim of a personal assault by a fellow employee or someone else who was a stranger to the employment?

10. Did your injury occur as a result of an ordinary activity such as bending, stooping, reaching, etc.?

11. Did you injury occur as the result of a fight with a co-worker or your boss?

12. If you fell on a stairs, did you slip as the result of poor lighting, water on the stairs, other substance on the stairs, bad carpet, etc.

If your denial involves any of the above circumstances, then you should not talk to the insurance company but rather you should talk immediately to an attorney who specializes in Virginia Workers’ Compensation. You can check my article, “How to Choose the Best Virginia Workers Compensation Attorney.” Knowledge of your problem is your best weapon.

Phone Tips To Get Things Done - Professional Phone Skills

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

It happens all the time, you hear someone over the telephone and you make a generalization about the person you are speaking with. It may not be fair and it is akin to judging a book by its cover, but it’s true nevertheless.

Within 60 seconds, people will make assumptions about one’s education, background, ability and personality based on their voice alone.

What type of impression is your “phone” voice making? Indeed there are two areas you should be aware of when speaking. One is “what’ you say, the other the “how” you say it. Studies show that as much as 87% of the listener’s opinion of you is based on your voice alone. That leaves only 13% allocated to what we are saying to make a positive impression. With numbers like these it is easy to see why your voice is so important in your career and personal life.

Today we live in a “voice mail” environment. We are playing “phone tag”, leaving messages and listening to voice mails left by others. It may take as many as 3-4 tries before actual contact is made and you have a conversation. By the time you do connect, you can be assured that other party already has formed an impression about you.

The following are some tips that will help you improve your phone voice and technique.

1. THIRD RING RULE: Answer the phone by the third ring or make sure you voice mail is set to pick up by the third ring. Today people are not inclined to wait much longer and will assume you are not available and hang up. Remember, as much as we think we don’t like voice mail, we like the option of leaving a message.

2. PROFESSIONAL GREETING: Remember the 87% rule above and make a good impression. Be aware of what you are going to say in the greeting. Then practice and rehearse BEFORE you leave the greeting on your answering machine. Be short and to the point. Don’t drag out the greeting. It is obvious you are “Out of the office or away from your desk” otherwise you would answer your phone. Consider leaving such statements out of your greeting unless you are actually away from the office, then say so and leave a date for your return. I recommend that you leave clear instructions as to what information you need from the caller. Reminder the caller to leave their phone number, best time to return the call and a brief subject.

3. PREPARE THEN ANSWER: Have a note pad and pen by your phone at all times. Write down the caller’s name and use it during the conversation.

4. BE AN ACTIVE LISTENER: Take notes, ask for correct spelling, etc.

5. PROMPTLY RETURN CALLS: Make it your personal goal that you will be one that returns phone calls. This may very well be the most professional characteristic of all you can develop. Set a goal to return phone calls within 4 hours, it will make a positive statement about you and your image.

6. CHECK YOU MESSAGES: Check your messages several times a day. Learn how to dial in from a remote phone to get your voice mails. Many times the caller is facing a deadline and your information may be crucial for them to complete their assignment.

IT’S A TWO WAY STREET. When You Leave Messages For Others Remember These Tips:

1. SLOW DOWN: Don’t speak too fast. Slow down when you are leaving a message, especially if you have an accent. If you make your message hard to understand or if the listener has to replay it several times to get your message your reputation is slipping in their mind.

2. CLEARLY SAY YOUR NAME: Make absolutely sure the caller will understand your name. Consider spelling your name if hard to pronounce or is not a common name.

3. S-L-O-W DOWN: When leaving your phone number go slow. Most likely the listener is writing down your number, make it easy for them to do so. Repeat the number. Consider saying your number at the beginning and end of your voice mail. People will appreciate this.

4. LEAVE YOUR NAME, COMPANY NAME AND REASON: Leave the listener with all the information they will need to know about you. Don’t make them guess. Always leave the reason you are calling. It is very unprofessional to just leave a message simply saying “give me a call”

5. MAKE IT EASY FOR THEM TO RETURN YOUR CALL: Tell them a good time to return your call. Give them a date, time and phone number.

6. BE PROFESSIONAL: People do judge you by the tone of your voice. Increase your image by sounding professional in everything you do over the phone

Remember that you won’t be able to avoid phone tag, but you can definitely put things in your favor by doing several small things that will make a BIG difference in your image.

Trends in Modern Bra Wear

Learn Where the Brassier Got It’s Start and Why It’s So Popular Even Today

History of the Bra

The history of the bra is extensive. Almost since the dawn of time women have worn bra’s either to enhance or minimize their figure. Bust-lines have been increased and decreased, rounded and stretched and even spread out throughout time following society’s trends and fashions.

Bra’s have been worn by women the world over since 2000 BC, when the first corset, created of leather was worn to support and outline the breasts. The ancient Greeks wore a type of bra that pushed the breasts upwards but left the breast itself naked.

During the 13th century, the practice of minimizing the breasts became very popular. Women often wore short bodices that flattened rather than enhanced a woman’s bodice. This changed however during the 15th century when a women’s chest became the focal point of her garments… it was popular for the upper portion of the breast to be pushed above the garments worn by a woman in order to give the appearance of full cleavage and a rounded bodice.

Trends in Modern Bra Wear

Bras are in. Today bras can be fashioned to meet any persons unique style and comfort preferences. In recent years plus and full size bras have become the norm, as more and more women turn to plastic surgery to enhance their bust line. In some cities it isn’t uncommon to see women who might be categorized as DD’s, EE’s and even FF’s thanks to modern technology.

Fortunately, there is a bra available to fit almost any woman anywhere. There are even bras that are fashioned as “outer wear”. Celebrities are among the more common members of society to tout such bold and daring styles.

For the bold but slightly less daring, sheer and see through bras are a great option. Bras, whether made with or without under wires, are made from silk, cotton, Lycra, spandex and even flannel.

Style has as much to do with what’s available and “hot” as what a woman finds comfortable and supportive.

The first formal “bras” were patented in the US in the mid 1800s, as tortuous corsets began to fall out of style with more comfort seeking women.

Different Bra Types

Many different bra types have been created since the early days of it’s existence. No longer do women have to struggle to fit their upper body and chest into contraptions made of whalebone and steel (the common materials used to fashion early corsets). Rather, today’s traditional bras are made of a variety of luxurious fabrics, meant to support, uplift, enhance and show off a woman’s breasts (though you can still find some that minimize, which for many women is a bonus).

See through and sheer bras, specialty bras, nursing and maternity bras, sports bras and even strapless and backless bras are all the rage in modern times. There is a bra available to fit any bust size and any individual style preference available. You can even have a bra custom made if you like. Though the corset is not completely banned from existence, new designs make wearing the contraption or similar ones much more feasible, and women no longer have to suffer pain and discomfort from wearing them.

Interestingly, the bra did not gain popularity until about the 1920s during the time of the flappers when a flat chest was suddenly in, and women looked to minimize their bust line rather than enhance it.

Among the first companies to jump on the bra making bandwagon during this time was the Maidenform Company, who created bra sizes in different bust size categories. As the breast minimizing trend of the early 20s faded and society entered the 30s, the idea of shape as acceptable became popular again, and Maidenform made an effort to make bras that would meet every woman’s needs, including plus and full size bras.

Warner’s was among the first to create a cup sizing system that ranged from size A to size D, which are still standard sizes.

At no time does a bra prove more useful than during exercise or during pregnancy/maternity. You can rest assured that sports bra’s which provide support during intense physical activity are most appreciated by women with large chests. Can you imagine what it is like to run without one?

Pregnant women now have nursing and maternity bras available to them, which make breastfeeding in public a much more easily accomplished task. New designs enable discreet feeding and offer comfortable support at a time when a woman’s breast size may change or fluctuate in a time span of weeks or months. Some of the more popular varieties are fashioned after the sports bra style, that allow for fluctuations in size.

Finding the Right Fit

Fit is EVERYTHING when it comes to wearing a bra. More than 90% of the female population at one time or another buys a bra that doesn’t fit properly. Fortunately you can easily measure yourself to ensure that you get a proper fit.

Finding the right bra size depends on two things: band size and cup size. Band size is usually measured in numbers, and generally ranges from 32 to 40+ (even numbers only). Cup size is alphabetical, and as discussed can range from an A to an EE or more.

To measure your chest you’ll need a tape measure. Wrap the tap lightly around your rib cage just below your bust line. You should then add five inches to this measurement, and that is your band size.

To measure your cup size, loosely wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the bust. For most women this is about where the nipple falls, or about mid-breast. You should then subtract the measurement you get from your band size. The difference measured equates to your cup size and runs as follows:

  • 1 inch — A cup
  • 2 inches — B cup
  • 3 inches — C cup
  • 4 inches — D cup

There are many thoughts on which bras are best. Some women prefer under wire bras because they believe they offer the best support. For some women, including nursing women however, under wire versions can be uncomfortable. Fortunately there is an incredibly broad selection of no wire bras that are flattering and just as supportive as their wire counterparts.

If you are not sure which you prefer, I recommend trying one of each. It won’t take long before you decide which works best for you.

7 Extraordinary Things That I Learned in the Gurumaa Ashram

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

The Gurumaa Ashram is an outstanding and unique place for self transformation for a better self, better health and wealth. It is the residing place of the enlightened Mystic - Shri Anandmurti Gurumaa, and the place where she imparts her spiritual guidance and knowledge to all visitors and disciples.

I had a visit to the ashram a few days ago and my stay there was of around 3 weeks. I was very impressed by the meditative atmosphere of the ashram and the bliss that prevails in the ashram. Its an vibrant place with a lot of lush gardens and ponds. Birds of more than 50 species flock in the big gardens of the ashram and their singing and chirping makes one feel connected with the nature.

Among many things that I learned in my ashram visit, these are the ones I would like to highlight -

1. Meditativeness: Its in the very air of the ashram. Meditations are held and practiced at regular intervals in the ashram everyday. Every attempt is made to foster awareness in even the most mundane of daily routine tasks like eating, bathing, talking, walking, sitting silently, etc.

2. A sense of brotherhood: The disciples staying in the ashram are very loving, helpful and cooperative. Their conduct is highly appreciable and their devotion towards the Guru is something to yearn for.

3. Teamwork: In a workshop for youngsters and the youth, many activities were held where it was evident that teamwork is in the necessary ingredient for success in life.

4. Compassion: Not only are the visitors in the ashram served with healthy food, but also the animal and birds there like dogs, crows, fishes, etc also get their share of food. This gives a valuable lesson in compassion and teaches us that man and nature should live in close harmony.

5. Discipline: The routine in the ashram is strict and following it, one learns the importance of time and discipline in one’s life. Only on the foundation of strict discipline can the mega skyscraper of outstanding success be built.

6. Yoga and healthy living: Yoga sessions are held every morning in fresh air. It has a highly rejuvenating effect on the inner and outer body and shows that healthy living is within every individual’s reach and one doesn’t need to ever visit the doctor for achieving that.

7. Inner Bliss: The biggest thing I learned in the ashram is that true happiness and ecstasy lies within myself, in my inner core of consciousness and that I need not seek it in the outer pursuits. It has given me true independence and a sense of clarity.
The trip to the Gurumaa ashram was very fruitful and opened new vistas in my life. It gave my life a new and deeper meaning and taught me that life could be lived in a much more joyous and extraordinary manner, one need not waste life on things like sadness, tensions and worries. Meditation gives us the glimpse of our inner happiness.

The teachings of Shri Anandmurti Gurumaa are available on her website www.gurumaa.com in audio and video format. A look at these gives us a glimpse on her dynamic and vibrant personality.

How To Know If A Guy Likes You - 7 Signs To Find Out If A Guy Likes You!

Posted on 30 September 2008 in Uncategorized by barbara33024

Are you having trouble not knowing for sure whether a guy likes the same way as you do? Well, it can be a real puzzle trying to figure out whether a guy likes you or not. Sometimes we might think that he does like us but the fact might be the opposite.

So, if you are doubt and you always ask yourself whether he is interested in you or not, then you need some clues for him to make you sure. Actually, there are several signs to find out if a guy likes you. Read on to find out what these signs are and you can tell whether a guy likes you or not.

1). Take notice of how many times he looks at you

Do you catch his eye every time you glance at him? If he is looking at you frequently and flashes his pearly whites when you look at him, there is definitely some interest on his part. A quick turn of his head when you’ve caught him looking at you is also a good sign.

2). Check for signs of nervousness

Nervous laughter, sweaty palms, fidgeting, looking away quickly when you notice if he is watching you are all good signs of an attraction towards you and that he is nervous about making an impression on someone he fancies. Also notice if you call his name, does his head snap around right away or does it turn gradually?

3). Note his body language

Does his upper torso seem to be pointed towards you when you’re around? Are his feet pointed toward you? Does he ever mimic your movement? Ever fidget? These are all signs that a boy gives off subconcioiusly that are signs of interest-and he doesn’t even realize that he’s doing it! That’s the fun part. But do look out for those kinds of signs and anything else that’s non verbal.

4). He seems to find reasons to be with or near you

Does he find ways to be closer to your body, near you, sit close or on the same side of the room as you? Does he want your opinion? Cares what you have to say? Does he seem to be around you often, when he can? Does his face lighten up or seem to go from stress to unstressed when you walk in or say hello? Beware, these are all the good signs that a guy probably likes you so much.

5). Think back on conversations you have had with him

Does he remember the little things that you said? Guys remember little insignificant pieces of conversations when they like you. They are letting you know that they are interested in everything about you. This is a good sign of his desire to have a relationship with you.

6). Pay attention to his friends

If they know he’s interested in you, they might tease him subtly when you’re around, hint to you that he likes you, or even try to find out if you like him. Study their reactions to your presence - do they smile? Do they turn to him? Do they smirk in a way that suggests they know something that you don’t? If so, then there’s a good chance that they know that he really does like you.

7). Check with your friends

Guys often take a greater interest in a girl’s friends as a way to get closer to her. Find out if he is asking about you when you are not around. Sometimes guys are too shy to express their interest in you, so they will go about it in a roundabout way.

Finally, to make sure whether he likes you or not then you can go ahead and ask him. Do you fear rejection? Well, he can say no to you, that is for sure, but think a little. You will save a lot of time and you will not daydream without any guarantees that something will ever happen between you two.

To keep away from any embarrassing situations, try to ask the right questions. If he says he does not like you, you may say the same thing and treat everything as a joke.
